About the Event
Situated in the Lower Derwent Valley this section of the Land of Oak and Iron is a mixed landscape of woodland, meadows, riverside and historic monuments.
On this family themed guided bird walk, local ornithologist Michael Turner will help identify the rich birdlife by sight and sound.
In January winter thrushes including redwing are still around adding to the numbers of resident birds including dipper, grey wagtail, jay and of course the iconic red kite.
A great introduction for children and families to find out more about birds.
The walk will be on regular pathways with some slight gradients.
Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress appropriately with stout footwear, waterproofs may be necessary depending on the weather.
