About the Event
To link in with the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), local ornithologist Michael Turner will be leading this walk in the lower Derwent Valley, looking at the variety of plants, trees and animals.Â
Once a place of heavy industry, this area is now rich in wildlife, from lichen and fungi to birds and mammals.
As well as helping with identification, the walk will explore the interaction between some species and the problems caused by invasive  non-native organisms.
The walk will be on regular footpaths and forest tracks with some steep steps. Please dress appropriately with stout footwear and bring binoculars if you have them. Sorry no dogs.
