About the Event

Join us on this guided bird walk around the lower Derwent Valley, with local ornithologist Michael Turner.

National Birdbox Week is celebrated every year in February, helping to raise awareness and encouraging people to make spaces in our gardens for nesting birds.

February marks the beginning of the breeding season for most garden birds - who will be busy looking for the perfect spot to raise their brood.

During this early Spring walk, Michael will help you identify birds by sight and sound and also tell you more about what birds are up to this time of year.  He can also advise you on how to encourage birds to nest in your gardens and where best to place a nest box.

Suitable for all ages - the walk will be on regular pathways with some slight gradients.

Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress appropriately with stout footwear,…
