About the Event

Join ornithologist Michael on another of our popular guided bird walks in the Land of Oak & Iron - part of National Nest Box Week, an initiative designed to encourage people to help provide homes for birds by putting up nest boxes in gardens, parks, and open spaces.

Situated in the Lower Derwent Valley this section of the Land of Oak and Iron is a mixed landscape of woodland, meadows, riverside and historic monuments, along with an abundance of wildlife.

On this guided bird walk local ornithologist Michael Turner will help identify the rich birdlife by sight and sound as we wander through this beautiful landscape - we will also chat about different types of bird box with advice on location and position.

Suitable for all ages - the walk will be on regular pathways with some slight gradients.

Please bring binoculars if you have them and dress appropriately with…
