About the Event

The Lower Derwent Valley is a rich landscape of woodland, meadow and riverside, which a large variety of birds call home. With the woodpecker, kingfisher, dipper and - of course - the iconic red kite, there is a fascinating world to explore at the Land of Oak & Iron.

The walk will be on regular footpaths and forest tracks with some steep steps. Please dress appropriately with stout footwear and bring binoculars if you have them. Sorry no dogs.

We will meet in the courtyard of the Land of Oak and Iron Heritage Centre.

Refreshments available at Café Shrub after the walk.

At the end of the walk there will an opportunity to see the fantastic bird and nature lino-prints by artist and printmaker Holly M Scott in our 'Inside Out Gallery' in the Heritage Centre windows.

Tickets £9.50 per person.
